Denare Beach, SK
The northern village of Denare Beach is located on the northeast side of Amisk Lake along Hwy 167. The community changed its name from Amisk (or Beaver) to Denare Beach in the 1930s. The name came from the first two letters of the Department of Natural Resources, the government department that was looking after the resort area at the time.

Gateway Museum: Cross the road from us, the Northern Gateway Museum features Indigenous, fur trading, and mining artifacts and crafts, furnishings from the early settlers of the 1950s, birch bark bitings by Angelique Merasty, and articles found by Henry Moody in 1953 at Fort Henry site, Amisk Lake. The museum’s Discovery Day takes place in July.
Limestone crevices: 17 km driving from us, view the remains of an ancient sea that once covered this region. Over time, the coral reefs and lime mud compacted into limestone. Today, this area has kilometers of crevices and caverns for the modern-day adventurist and fossil hunter to explore. The area is not suitable for small children or pets.
